About Iskophel

Iskophel publishes guidance on cloud accounting software for Singapore businesses. We are not a software vendor and we do not sell licences. Our work is research and explanation: what a platform needs to handle locally, how compliance workflows actually run, and what to check before signing a contract.

Editorial work on accounting software should tell you what to check, not which licence to buy. That is the whole job here.

Why we focus on Singapore

Singapore's accounting software market has specific requirements that generic international reviews tend to skip. GST handling, InvoiceNow, XBRL filing through BizFile+, and IRAS submission readiness all shape which platforms work here. Our writing starts from those requirements rather than from global feature comparisons.

A platform can look complete on a vendor's feature page and still leave a finance team doing manual work at quarter end, because the gap sits in a local workflow nobody listed. We would rather describe the workflow and let you test the software against it. That is also why our pages keep pointing at official sources — IRAS guidance, ACRA requirements, InvoiceNow documentation — instead of asking you to take our summary as final.

Who we write for

Our readers are SME owners, finance managers, bookkeepers, and accountants in Singapore. Some are choosing software for the first time. Others are replacing a system that no longer fits. The questions differ, but both groups need the same thing: clear criteria rather than a ranked list.

How we research platforms

We work from publicly available information: vendor documentation, Singapore government resources, product pages, and the requirements published by IRAS and ACRA. We describe what platforms claim and what those claims mean in practice. Where we cannot verify something, we say so rather than filling the gap.

Vendor documentation

Help centres, release notes and published feature lists. We read these to find out which local workflows a platform actually supports, and which it leaves to a partner or an export.

Official Singapore sources

Requirements published by IRAS and ACRA, plus InvoiceNow material. These set the baseline a platform has to meet here, independent of how its marketing is written.

Practical testing notes

What a finance team has to do at month end and at filing time, and where a given setup adds a manual step. We describe the step rather than scoring it.

Open questions

Where documentation is thin or a claim cannot be checked against a published source, we flag it and suggest what to ask the vendor directly before signing.

Our conflict of interest policy

No paid placement

We do not accept payment for coverage, rankings, or placement. A vendor cannot buy a spot on a page, and we do not run sponsored comparisons.

No vendor review

Vendors do not review our pages before publication. Where a vendor disagrees with our description of its product, our response is to check the source, not to soften the page.

Disclosed relationships

If we ever establish a commercial relationship with a vendor, we will disclose it on the relevant page. Our editorial judgements are made independently of any such relationship.

This policy applies to every page we publish, including the software comparison and the vendor credibility guide. If you spot a page that reads like paid placement, tell us which one and why — that is a correction we want.

What we do not do

We do not provide accounting, tax, or legal advice, and nothing on this site should be treated as a substitute for professional guidance. We do not install software, file returns, or act as your agent. If you need those services, we will point you toward the appropriate professional rather than pretend to offer them.

What we can do is explain how a workflow is meant to run, list the questions worth asking a vendor, and tell you plainly when a decision belongs with your accountant or tax adviser. Support for the software itself sits with the vendor and its implementation partner — that is who you contact when a filing fails, and it is worth confirming the support terms in writing before you sign.

Corrections and feedback

Software changes. Tax rules change. If you spot something on this site that is out of date or wrong, tell us and we will look at it. We would rather correct a page than leave an inaccurate statement standing. Use the contact form and describe the specific page and issue.

Send us a correction

Tell us the page and what looks wrong. If you have a source, include it — that shortens the check considerably.

We use your details only to reply about the correction you send. Read the Privacy Policy for how we handle it.
